    (English feminist journal on Japanese women)

    Voices from Japan, the English journal of AJWRC, is the great source of networking with grassroots women’s movements in Japan. Included are featured articles from the latest titles of “Women’s Asia 21”, AJWRC’s journal in Japanese as well as recent events, issues and campaigns of women in Japan.

GENDER EDUCATION & TRAINING PROGRAMS

  • Feminism in English, 2003 Empowerment seminars

    We organize seminars and workshops regularly on various issues with feminist perspectives such as: violence against women, nationalism, economic issues, women’s movements in other parts of the world, feminist English, use of ICT, etc.






  • Women's Study in Cambodia, 2000 Women’s study tours

    We organize study tours of women visiting women’s groups in other Asian countries to learn their issues and activities and to share information and experiences.







  • Gender and Human Rights Workshop in Fukushima, 2004 Training and Workshops

    We provide lectures and trainings for youths, teachers, local governments and other groups that are interested in gender sensitive trainings and workshops.







CAMPAIGNS, ADVOCACY AND RESEARCHES

  • 2003 Women's Campaign: No to Sexist Politicians!

    We monitor cases and policies that may violate women’s rights, run ad-hoc and long-term campaigns, and conduct feminist researches and surveys for advocacy purposes. We also actively participate in international feminist debates and campaigns.








  • A Campaign for saving Article 24 of the Constitution

    we are campaigning to save existing Article 24, which provides for equal rights for both sexes and individual dignity for women, from a change for the worse.

  • Women Change Tokyo Campaign

    Tokyo has become an undemocratic society due to Governor of Tokyo, Mr. Ishihara. We are campaigning to reform Tokyo from the point of view of women.
